Chinese New Year Decoration 2011

We will be celebrating Chinese Lunar New Year - Year of the Rabbit on the 3rd of February. I take this opportunity to decorate my home for this auspicious occasion. The materials chosen and used for the decoration are natural and 100% recyclable. The pumpkin and rice are real and can be consumed after Chinese New Year. The fire crackers are made with toilet roll cores wrapped around with red paper. The rest of the decorative items can be reused for next year.

Go GREEN even though it is has to be RED for Chinese New Year!

Students' Mandala Expression

Mandala expressions created by my 12 years old students.  My briefing to them is to draw freely in any forms or shapes they desired. It's their first piece of Mandala art and their creation gave me a pleasant surprise!

Craft aquarium

I engaged my students in recycle craft; transformed a discarded carton box into an imaginative craft aquarium. They had fun and enjoyed working as a team completing this project in one art session. Their feedback was 'this is awesome and we want more!'
